Summary
An American surfer, 56, died after wiping out on the infamous Teahupo’o wave in Tahiti, French Polynesia. The surfer broke two vertebrae in their neck after hitting their head on the coral reef. They were pulled out of the water and taken to the hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries. Teahupo’o is known for its heavy surf and has claimed lives before.
