Summary
A golf pro at Blackwell Grange Golf Club in England encountered two 10-foot-long boa constrictors on the course in the span of a week. The snakes, which are not native to the UK, were found to be “riddled with disease” and died soon after being discovered. It is believed that they were dumped on the course by a negligent pet owner. The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is urging anyone with information to come forward.
Our Reading
The wildlife encounter gets a new name.
Golfers in England are used to seeing wildlife on the course, but boa constrictors are not native to the UK. Two were found on the same course in one week, both about 10 feet long. They were “riddled with disease” and died soon after being discovered. Someone’s pet, it seems, had become a hazard on the green. Because who needs a ball when you can hit a snake?
