Summary
Apu, the Indian store clerk from The Simpsons, has returned to the show after nearly 10 years. Hank Azaria, who voiced the character, stepped down in 2017 due to concerns over racial stereotyping. The role is now taken by Sunil Malhotra, an Indian-American voice actor. The character’s return was announced by Variety. Apu’s return follows a period of absence and public discussion about representation in media.
