Our Reading

The trend returns with a new name. Hollywood’s go-to trio of Adams, Pfeiffer, and Russell is a familiar combination that echoes the classic ensemble casts of the 90s and early 2000s. The Paramount series is the latest example of a major streaming platform investing in big-name talent to drive subscription numbers. The move is reminiscent of the Golden Age of Television, where big-name stars were the draw for audiences. The series’ success will depend on its writing, direction, and chemistry between the leads. The look feels familiar, and the question remains: will it feel new?
