OLDZERO
About
The world has an impressive commitment to repeating itself. We consider this an editorial opportunity.
OLDZERO is an English-language home for sharp satire about power, corporate promises, technology and the strange administrative business of being alive. We look for the gap between what an institution says and what everyone else has to do because of it.
A joke needs somewhere to go
Our aim is a concrete comic premise, a story that develops it, and an ending that adds something. Rewording a press release and calling it absurd is not enough.
Our recurring formats include The Daily Absurd, Corporate Translation, The Progress Report and Modern Life Manual. New satirical pieces are labelled. Their fictional institutions, dialogue and exaggerated situations belong to the joke, not to a claim of original reporting.
What you are reading
The archive also contains older summaries and commentary. Those articles have not been retroactively reclassified as satire. When a new piece draws on reporting elsewhere, its source context is linked.
AI assists production. Automated checks can identify formatting defects, placeholders and some repetition; they do not establish factual accuracy or prove that a joke works. We do not claim that every article has received independent human fact-checking.
