Summary
Sahra Noor, the older sister of Rep. Ilhan Omar, canceled a book tour event at the University of Minnesota Rochester due to a “family emergency.” Noor, a Somali immigrant and author, was promoting her memoir “Salt in the Snow” amid ongoing investigations into her sister’s immigration and financial disclosures. The event was scheduled for Thursday night but was empty when reporters arrived. Noor was reportedly subpoenaed in relation to the immigration probe. Omar is under federal scrutiny for potential citizenship fraud. Noor’s book tour includes stops in Kenya, South Africa, and the U.S.
