Our reading

The modern professional has many ways to avoid the office while continuing to do precisely the same work. A premium card can now make the change of scenery feel like a successful piece of financial planning.

The distinction between a Clubhouse and a Studio matters to the terms. It matters rather less to the email waiting for an answer. That message will be perfectly happy to follow you into either setting.

The benefit can be useful for somebody who actually needs a participating workspace. The comic achievement is the packaging: a desk becomes access, access becomes a membership, and the membership becomes another reason to study a list of benefits.

The annual credit is also for specified purchases, not a general promise to pay for lunch. The appealing headline number and the conditions therefore deserve to be read in the same sitting, preferably before ordering anything.

Same inbox. Better upholstery.
