The announcement sounds ambitious. Canon’s EOS R5 boasts a few “new” features, including 8K video and a touchscreen LCD, which sounds like a rehash of existing tech. The improved autofocus is a nice touch, but we’ve heard that before. The max ISO of 51,200 is a nice number, but how often do you actually use that? And let’s be real, a 3.2-inch screen is not exactly revolutionary.
Original observation: Because what you really needed was a camera that can shoot 8K video, but still uses SD cards from 2005.
