Delta Tests First-Class Seat Capacity

Delta Tests First-Class Seat Capacity

Source: The Points Guy

Summary

Deltas Airbus A321neo has 44 domestic first-class recliners, taking up almost half the aircraft. The airline has had little trouble filling those seats, selling about 80% of them on average. Delta is using this as an experiment to see how large to size its first-class cabins in the future.

Our Reading

The escape is carefully planned.

Delta’s oversized first-class cabin is a trial balloon for the airline’s future cabin sizing. The carrier has noted a surge in passengers willing to pay for premium seats, and expects to offer nearly 8% more premium seats than it did in 2025. Delta’s new Airbus A350-1000 will be its most premium long-haul jet ever, with next-generation Delta One business-class suites. The airline is also considering an extra-luxe Delta One product.

Because who needs a beach vacation when you can have 44 first-class seats on a single plane?
