BlueFirst will expand to other routes over the coming months. The cabin features larger screens, more legroom, and premium dining on longer flights. The service will be added to 39 routes over time, starting in December 2026.
Our Reading
The escape is carefully planned.
BlueFirst seats on BOS-FLL. Larger screens, more legroom. Premium dining on long flights. Cold meals in bento boxes. Priority boarding. Limited availability on some routes. Retrofitted planes, not all flights get the upgrade. Mosaic members get space-available upgrades. Certificates now apply to BlueFirst. Some lounges remain out of reach.
JetBlue’s first-class rollout is methodical. Routes spread across the U.S. and Caribbean. December to April rollout. Cold meals, no ovens. Premium service with limited access. BlueFirst is not a surprise. It’s a calculated move.
Travelers will find BlueFirst on select flights. Not all routes get it at once. Some planes have it, others don’t. The upgrade path is clear. But the experience remains curated. BlueFirst is not for everyone.
The trip promises a break, but it’s one that requires a specific ticket and a specific flight.

BlueFirst Launch and Availability
JetBlue officially announced the availability of BlueFirst, its new first-class cabin, on Thursday. The service debuted on Dec. 8 on Flight 1169 from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). The cabin will be introduced on some flights between New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and FLL within a few additional days before being added to more routes in the coming months.
Route Expansion and Timeline
JetBlue has outlined a phased rollout of BlueFirst across 39 routes, starting in December 2026 and continuing through April 2027. Initial routes include BOS-FLL, FLL-Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF), FLL-Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR), and others. The airline plans to add the service to more destinations over time, with a majority of planes expected to have BlueFirst seats by the end of 2027.
BlueFirst Features and Amenities
The BlueFirst cabin features seats arranged in 2-2 configurations, with larger 13.3-inch seatback screens, Bluetooth connectivity, five inches of recline, and up to seven more inches of legroom compared to main cabin seats. Premium dining and drink service will be available on flights longer than 899 miles. However, ovens will not be installed, and meals will be cold, including bento-inspired boxes with options like crepes and noodles.
Eligibility and Upgrades
JetBlue will allow space-available upgrades for Mosaic elite frequent flyers, with upgrades likely to follow tier order. The airline will also expand the use of “Move to Mint” certificates to include BlueFirst, though only certain fares will be eligible for upgrades. Mosaic members booking on “Base” fares will not qualify for upgrades.
BlueFirst and Lounge Access
BlueFirst passengers will not be eligible to use JetBlue’s BlueHouse lounges at BOS or New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) unless they already have access through a credit card or one-time pass. This limits the full premium experience for some travelers, even those with BlueFirst seats.
