Joe Rogan Reacts to Shane Gillis Backlash

Joe Rogan is reacting to the intense firestorm surrounding his friend Shane Gillis. During his Saturday Night Live appearance, Gillis found himself in hot water after joking that women dress “like whores” at the gym during his monologue. “Going to the public gym as a fat guy, especially in New York, is a nightmare, dude. It’s just the hottest gay guys you’ve ever seen. They’re jacked, and they look at me like, ‘Yeah, right.’ I know, dude.”

“Also, I haven’t been to the gym in so long. I didn’t know women just dressed like wh-res now. “Look, I’m sorry. There’s no other way to describe — have you seen it? I’ve seen it. The shorts. Have you seen the shorts?

Fellow comedian Dan Levy immediately criticized Gillis on social media. “Women wearing short shorts to the gym does not make them whores,” Levy said in a statement on Instagram. “It makes the men calling them whores misogynists. There’s a difference there.”

During the most recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan believed many were misinterpreting the joke and argued that Gillis was making fun of himself. “The joke is on Shane, ‘cause the joke is that he looks like a creep in the background of all these TikToks, watching these ladies that are wearing nothing doing these exercises,” Rogan said. “I’ve seen ladies at the gym that wear essentially sheer pink, really small shorts with no underwear on, and they’re doing deadlifts. And when they’re bending over, they’re sticking their v-gina with the thinnest of cloth out into the air.”

Rogan went on to say he has no problem with what women wear at the gym. “I have no problem with women dressing like that. Have fun. God bless you. If you have a great body, especially, show it off to the world. Who cares?”
