Viewers Are Grossed Out
Commenters were shocked.
“As if you’re trying to get a free salad,” one wrote. “Chick-fil-A got some f— nerves.”
“Ngl There’s something weird going on with flies lately,” a second added.
A third said, “That happens when the ppl prepping the salads are making too many at once.”
“Something in there had fly eggs on it when they made it,” a fourth speculated.
Is This A Frequent Issue?
Over on Reddit, there are multiple users who have encountered similar issues. One user, who ordered the Cobb salad, shared an image of their food. It was in a similar container to the TikToker’s. In the image, a house fly like the one in the TikTok is visible.
“They refunded me and then offered me a cookie but it’s still bothering me how gross that is,” the Redditor wrote.
A hint as to why this keeps happening can be found on the r/ChickFilAWorkers subreddit. One worker complained there were “flies everywhere.”
“My restaurant has had flies for months, I let them know the first time I noticed them and they didn’t really seem to care,” they wrote.
In response to this complaint, several Redditors encouraged the user to call the health department.

Moreover, this issue doesn’t seem to be restricted to flies. One Chick-fil-A customer found a moth in their food.
“According to the mock safe that CFA uses to get ready for Ecosure visits, 3 or more flies is considered an immediate risk,” they note.
<p“They will definitely see when they get marked off for this on their Ecosure audit this quarter. Also, the air curtain in the drive-thru window (not sure if the door has one. My store doesn’t have a door yet in our drive-thru) is supposed to be on for this very reason.
“As a germophobe it makes me sick, I literally just can’t believe no one’s doing anything.”
Another fellow Chick-Fil-A employee claimed that the affected branch wasn’t following the right policy.
Flies In Salad, Now Called “Family”
Chick-fil-A has had quality issues in the past, with BroBible reporting one customer’s concerns about the company’s chicken, but this is just plain gross.
The first TikTok consists of the TikToker filming the Chick-fil-A salad, which is still in its plastic container. In the container, a large house fly can be seen on top of the fruit.
“So we ordered my mama’s salad from Chick-fil-A off Uber Eats,” she began. “[They] literally handed her this salad, and this s— is filled with flies.”
“Like, big-a—house flies, and they tryna tell us, there’s no possible way that this coulda happened. In a sealed bag in a sealed salad container, where the f— else did the flies come from?”
The TikTok has garnered 39,700 views.

In a follow-up video, the TikToker shared an update. She explained that she had been on the phone to her local Chick-fil-A branch and that they apologized and tried to rectify the situation.
She also noted that Uber Eats refunded her but added that “the way it was handled is what threw [her] off.” The TikToker went on to remark how the employee tried to tell her it was “impossible” for flies to be in her food.
“Number one: I didn’t tell you a f— construction boot was in the salad I told you there’s flies in the salad,” she said. “Flies come in every time somebody open a goddamn door.”
Still, she reiterated that she appreciated the call and apology.
