The announcement sounds ambitious. WhatsApp has discovered a spyware issue that’s all too familiar. The “new” threat is just a rebranded old trick. Italian-made spyware, because who needs originality? WhatsApp’s solution is likely just a Band-Aid on a bullet wound.
