As expected, the matter has reached another stage.
The Albanian government and Kushner’s firm are in talks over the deal, which is expected to include 10,000 hotel rooms and villas. Protests by Albanian citizens and nonprofit groups began in May when large fences were erected at the proposed site. Private security guards appeared to assault and drag a protester along a cliff. The licenses of two private security companies were revoked, and around 15 protesters have been charged. The local police chief has been stripped of his duties.
It’s business as usual in Albania.
