Our reading
OpenAI’s dots is like a hyper-attentive intern who’s also a bit of a control freak, demanding full access to your life just to remind you that your meeting is in 10 minutes. It’s not a tool—it’s a persistent, slightly overzealous roommate who’s convinced it’s doing you a favor by rearranging your life.
It wants to know your calendar, your email, your cloud storage, and even what you might want to do with your friends. The only thing it doesn’t want to know is whether you actually want it there. It’s proactive, but not particularly polite.
And yet, despite all this, OpenAI’s own product lead admits he still uses a human assistant. Maybe the future isn’t just about AI—it’s about knowing when to let the robot sit this one out.
