Grayson Myer’s dad rips Davidson.
Myer is a freshman from Frisco, Texas. He played both football and baseball at Wakeland High School. As a senior, the six-foot pass catcher hauled in 89 receptions for 1,297 yards and 10 touchdowns.

The wideout signed with Drake last February after committing to the Bulldogs the previous November. He’s made an instant impact in Des Moines.
Myer hauled in three passes in the season opener to total 50 yards. He found himself on the field again in Game 4 vs. Davidson. Unfortunately, his day came to an abrupt end.
Myer hauled in a 14-yard pass during the first half. He was hit immediately by a Wildcats defender. He immediately grabbed his knee and exited the contest.
A debate ensued.
Kevin Myer blasted the opposing coaching staff for the technique after the injury. He viewed it as dirty. The social media response was mixed.

Only teams who can’t compete because they aren’t good enough do stuff like this.
Can’t hit high, can’t hit low. If he smokes him across the chest you’d complain then, too… Stop trying to take defense and tackling out of the game. It’s a contact sport, not two hand touch.
Every DB/LB is going to make a low tackle in that situation rather than risk a targeting call.
It’s an unfortunate situation, for sure.
Hits at the knees are dangerous. Defenders’ jobs are also difficult given the NCAA rules on targeting. Both things can be true.
Hopefully, Grayson Myer can make a speedy recovery to make an impact as a sophomore.
