TSA PreCheck Touchless ID is now widely available, but don’t assume it’s available at every terminal. Bring a valid ID just in case. The program is optional, but you must opt-in ahead of time through your airline’s profile. The touchless ID system is similar to the paid Clear service, but at no additional cost beyond the TSA PreCheck application fee.
And, of course, the “convenience” of skipping lines still requires planning ahead.
