Our reading
Robinson’s AI-generated girlfriend is so perfectly curated that she doesn’t even need a name—just a look. The image is a masterclass in digital fantasy, where the only thing missing is the actual person. It’s like a dating profile that’s been optimized for maximum appeal, but with no real person to back it up.
It’s not just the AI that’s strange, but the assumption that a fantasy image is a valid way to express personal desire. he’s a multimillionaire, yet still feels the need to imagine a life that’s not his own. Maybe he’s just trying to keep his options open.
The image is a perfect example of how digital tools can turn personal fantasy into public spectacle. If he wanted a country girl, he could just go find one—but then, where’s the fun in that?
